This is HTTPS addict, a newsletter uncovering truths, falsehoods and narratives in the digital ocean we call home, written and maintained by a fellow anon.
HTTPS?
Links you see on the Internet probably start with this:

That is the Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure, a technical jargon for basically website encryption or authentication. Due to its commonality on the Internet, I was inspired to use it for name of this newsletter, which seeks to find stories from various Internet flashpoints.
What is it all about?
This newsletter seeks to bring you stories that are self-contained on the Internet, which, truthfully, has very little bearing on the real world directly. These stories can inform about media culture and narratives on the Internet.
Why me?
Who is Minh Nguyen? It is not just one of the most common Vietnamese names, that is the author of this newsletter you’re reading!
I am a college student at Brandeis University, with an interest in Internet history and Internet culture.
I love the Internet and quite frankly, I have spent too much time on it, whether it be Tumblr, Twitter or Wikipedia, going down rabbit holes about the most banal of topics. Over the many hours I have spent scrolling and reading on the screen, something that has been striking to me is how vast and deep human interests and hobbies are, and how human drama and errors still play a role in a network that is meant to be logical and mechanical.
Internet culture is fascinating, and its interactions reveals to us some microcosms about human nature. And I would like to relay these stories to you.
